UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema has emphasized that he is not setting any conditions before participating in the much talked about political dialogue.

The UPND Leader tells QTV News in a statement that he is very willing and availability to participate in the upcoming dialogue process.

Mr. Hichilema believes that the only way for political leaders to resolve issues affecting the country is through genuine and unconditional dialogue.

Mr. Hichilema has also agreed with the stance of the three church mother bodies namely Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ), Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB), and the Christian Council of Zambia (CCZ) that there is too much corruption in the PF Government.

He says there is no doubt that a lot of resources which could have been deployed in the social and productive sectors such as health, education, farming and others, have been looted in broad daylight.

He adds that this looting amounts to economic sabotage.

The UPND Leader says he is also vindicated that corruption is being tolerated with impunity at all levels of Government.

Meanwhile, the UPND Media team has refuted media claims suggesting that the UPND Leader has donated dust bins towards the fight against cholera.

Deputy Press Secretary to the UPND President Brian Mwiinga in a separate statement says the public and media will be informed by Mr. Hichilema’s press office of what material support will be donated towards the cholera outbreak fight.

Nigerian Prophet Isaac Amata who in 2016 prophesied President Edgar Lungu’s victory during elections now says the Zambian leader is facing a huge discontent from the grassroots who voted for him.
Prophet Amata says during prayers in the mountain a few days ago he saw too much discontent from the grassroots and that a number of people working with President Lungu were not with him but just deceiving him.
“God does nothing except he reveals first to his servants the prophets”(Amos 3:7) 3 days ago on the prayer mountain in Lagos, Nigeria… January 6,2018 God gave me an urgent message to the president of Zambia Edgar Lungu about hidden snakes assigned to undermine God’s assignment for him as regards Zambia! THE MESSAGE IS URGENT AND TIMELY! There are green snakes hidden in your administration undermining your good efforts.
The Nigerian Prophet whose prophecy was rubbished when he said Lungu would win the elections says the Zambian leader needs to act before it is too late.
“The fire l saw in March 2017 that led to formation of NDC could have been adverted if dialogue and negotiations with compromises for good of grassroots was reached! The grassroots which is the people of Zambia must be returned back to fast! There is much discontentment l see in the grassroots building up gradually! I SAY RETURN BACK TO THE GRASSROOTS!”

The Patriotic Front (PF) is this Friday scheduled to have a meeting in Kabwe where they will suspend Kabwe Central Member of Parliament Tutwa Ngulube from the party.

PF Central Province Chairperson Chanda Mutale says if Mr. Ngulube wants to continue being a party member, he should pledge his loyalty to the party than bringing its name in disrepute.

Mr. Mutale says the party in the province wants Mr. Ngulube suspended or expelled from the party on an account that he has gone too far, with his unwarranted attacks on republican President Edgar Lungu and the party Secretary General Davis Mwila.

He says the party is aware that Mr. Ngulube has some external influence encouraging him to demonize the party which has overtime built itself to where it is today.

He says it is high time Mr. Ngulube chose where he wants to be or leave the party with immediate effect.

Meanwhile PF Lusaka Province Youth Chairperson Kennedy Kamba has warned that the party will this not condone traitors.

He has rubbished the mast newspaper headline suggesting that the party needs former Foreign Affairs minister Harry Kalaba more than he needs it.

Kabwe PF Central Member Of Parliament Tutwa Ngulube has vowed not to resign from the ruling party despite calls from the party leadership for him to resign.

Commenting on PF Secretary General Davies Mwila’s challenge for him to resign from the party on allegations of being disloyal, Mr Ngulube said he has done nothing wrong and has justified that his actions are in accordance with the party’s constitution where he is allowed to give checks and balances to government and the party.

He has since challenged the pf secretary general to present provisions in the party constitution that state that he is acting against it.

Meanwhile, Governance Activist Reuben Lifuka has urged the pf to set the tone of how they deal with internal party issues and has warned that failure by the party to accept divergent views from its members might lead to internal party wrangles.
Mr Ngulube has in the recent past cautioned government on certain decisions that might cause the party to lose the 2021 elections.

The Patriotic Front says it is dismayed that UPND seeks to politicise the outbreak of Cholera in constituencies by donating politically branded materials.

PF Deputy Secretary General Mumbi Phiri says the ruling party is disturbed at the extents to which UPND is ready to go in its quest to prove political relevance.

Mrs Phiri says it immoral and inhumane for any political party to attempt scoring cheaply on a misfortune such as the Cholera epidemic Zambia is battling with.

She says there must come a time in the life of a nation when people put politics aside and pull together as a Country.

Mrs Phiri said this in a statement released to ZNBC News by PF Media Director, Sunday Chanda.

And Mrs Phiri has commended the combined efforts by Government ministries and cooperating partners, including men and women in uniform in the management and prevention of the further spreading of Cholera.

She has since called for heightened public participation and directed all PF members to get involved in interventions taking place in their respective communities.

Professor Ngoma maintained that accusations against him by workers that he has failed to run the institution are not true.

FORMER Southern province Minister Daniel Munkombwe says he will forever remain indebted to President Lungu who facilitated for his evacuation by government in South Africa following an illness which threatened his life.

Munkombwe mentioned to President Lungu at State House after paying the Head of State a visit shortly after arrival from South Africa that he had been used, purely based on tribe, by the UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema to propagate tribal politics and encourage hate against the President in Southern province.

Munkombwe says after successfully doing so, he was however deserted by the UPND and its leadership when his health failed him while in UTH.

Chipolopolo Face Uganda In CHAN Opener Today

Zambia seeks a solid start in their 2018 CHAN Group B opener on Sunday when they face Uganda in Marrakech.

The match will mark Zambia coach Wedson Nyirenda’s debut continental tournament in charge since losing 3-1 to Zimbabwe in the regional 2017 COSAFA Cup final last July in South Africa.

Sunday will also see Zambia return to action for the first time since November 11 when they drew 2-2 at home against Cameroon in Ndola in their final 2018 FIFA World Cup Group B qualifier.

Seven players who saw action against Cameroon including three unused substitutes in that match are all in Morocco.

“The players are here to showcase their quality and we are looking forward to go in the tournament,” Nyirenda said.

Zanaco attacking midfielder Augustine Mulenga and Power Dynamos striker Alex Ng’onga are expected lead in attack as Zambia seeks to maintain its tradition to collect a third successive opening day victory in a CHAN tournament.

Furthermore, Zambia has never failed to advance from the knockout round after finished 3rd in 2009 and the quarterfinals in 2016.

The spotlight will also be on Zanaco goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata who was veteran number one Kennedy Mweene’s understudy during the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers as debate rages on the latter’s successor.

But Nyirenda has one absentee for Sunday’s match with Power Dynamos midfielder Godfrey Ngwenya ruled out due to a knee injury he sustained during Zambia’s 3-1 win over South African club Orlando Pirates in a training game on January 10 in Johannesburg.

Meanwhile, Zambia and Uganda meet for the second successive time at CHAN after Chipolopolo beat The Cranes 1-0 in another group fixture at Rwanda 2016.
And Uganda head into their fourth successive CHAN outing still without an opening day win at the tournament where they have won just one game and have never advanced to the knockout round.

January Pressure: Cops Defy Home Affairs Minister

POLICE officers from various traffic departments in Lusaka have gone on rampage and continued mounting road blocks thereby defying Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo’s warning against such.

On Saturday, Mr. Kampyongo warned that “heads will roll in the police traffic command” if undesignated and unnecessary road blocks persist.

He said the mounting of road blocks in the middle of residential areas should be discouraged as it was inconveniencing the public and that if that continued, he would be forced to change the entire police traffic command.

“I agree that the setting up of road blocks in the middle of residential areas should be discouraged. I spoke about this matter in Parliament and expect officers to follow the instructions and if not, I will be forced to change the whole police traffic command,” Mr. Kampyongo warned.

But a check on various roads by the Sunday Nation yesterday found that nothing had changed as traffic officers had continued with roadblocks even in non-designated areas such as residential areas and certain roads barely 24 hours after the minister sounded the warning against doing so.

A check in Garden compound found police officers had mounted a roadblock as early as 08:00 hours while it was the same situation in most residential areas across the city with more roadblocks on all major roads such as Great East Road, Lumumba and feeder roads around the Central Business District such as Cha Cha Cha.

Traffic almost came to a standstill in Garden near the police station as officers caused traffic congestion by ordering those who were found with various traffic offences to park by the roadside.

One of the traffic officers who mounted a roadblock in around Apollo Park near Matero’s heavy industrial area expressed ignorance when confronted and told that the minister had banned unnecessary roadblocks and refused to provide her identity.

“Which minister banned roadblocks and when? I cannot give you my name or my service number,” a female officer retorted when asked for her identity.

Meanwhile, Evangelical Youth Alliance executive director Moses Lungu said there was need for changes in the traffic command to be effected immediately so that those who had political inclinations could be weeded out as they were making Government fail to function properly.

“You cannot have a situation where the minister issues a directive and those who are supposed to ensure that such directives are executed are quiet. That is truancy and must never be condoned. If people have divided loyalty, they must go. For me, if I will find any roadblock in a non-designated area such as residential area, they must be prepared to arrest me because I will not ascribe to this kind of behaviour,” Mr Lungu said.

The Downfall Of President Edgar Lungu

$

One need not to be a rocket-scientist to ascertain the end of one’s political journey. It is no secret that the rate at which the Patriotic Front (PF) is expelling members is a sign of political decline.

Many political parties’ end would be seen from the number of people being expelled in a short space as well as the number of resignations.

When Chishimba Kambwili was expelled, it was clear that many senior party officials did not subscribe to the idea in the PF.

Some of us predicted a chain of expulsions and resignations.

Certainly, some expulsions and resignations were not ill-timed and miscalculated.

They were products of political miscalculations and failure to heed advice from those with dissenting views.

The PF government is slowly being punctuated by social disobedience as was seen in Kanyama ,arising from political miscalculations.

It is now evident that those with a disciplined political eye by now know that Edgar Lungu has lost direction and political grip.

Sooner or later, some youths and top PF officials will start directing their dissatisfaction on EL’s leadership as being responsible for this political migration and loss of direction.

The biggest mistake Edgar Lungu made was to allow so many of his handlers to over control him and later on deceive him.

Today, it is clear that his political handlers will soon take the blame as being responsible for EL’s wrong decisions. Wrong Nominations into parliament and Ministerial appointments suggest a lack of direction and vision on EL and his handlers.

It is a demonstration of political inertia and panic. Truth be told;President Edgar Lungu had an opportunity to allow those with presidential ambitions to do so freely. But he allowed himself to be duped by short-sighted handlers and he is now reaping the bad yield.

To reverse the damage is almost not tenable. The secret now lies in him trying hard to reconcile with all those he has offended and accept not to be politically maligned alongside those wanting him to contest in 2021.

It is time for Edgar Lungu to make things right with those with opposing views in PF including those from the opposition political parties he wrongfully accused and later on arrested.

He can be a good messenger of reconciliation and political emancipation if he tried to rethink his political journey.

There comes a time in life when even those that praised and danced for you become your competitors.

Let him also be very clear on the fight against corruption and allow statutory bodies to investigate all those alleged to have been involved in unclean deals in his government.

There is no doubt now that from now hence forth, president Edgar Lungu will find it difficult to trust any of his handlers.

This is a sign of his downfall. Let him be very clear on his political ambitions and invite everyone to freely contest for the candidature of the next election.

If he does not heed to this, let him not be surprised if calls for his resignation begin to reign.

The United Party for Nation Development (UPND) Leader Hakainde Hichilema has demanded that government compensates all street venders who were recently removed from the streets.

And the UPND President has refuted claims by Home Affairs Minister Steven Kampyongo that his party was behind the riots that were witnessed in Kanyama, Chibolya, Misisi and John Leigh.

Mr. Hichilema has told a media briefing in Lusaka that the people were rioting because the PF Government is frustrating them.

He says his party had nothing to do with the riots as claimed by both the PF and the Home Affairs Minister.

The UPND Leader has however emphasized the need for the people to remain calm saying lasting solutions to their challenges will be found.

Meanwhile, Mr. Hichilema has called on government to ensure that fee paying toilets are made free to the members of the public.

He says the people in town and markets, who cannot afford to pay to use a toilet, may resort to using other means in answering the call of nature saying that may cause cholera.

POLICE have teargassed scores of Lusaka traders who were matching to State House to demand an audience with President Edgar Lungu on the continued closure of businesses.

Evicted street vendors have been allowed to trade outside the gutted City Market which has failed to accommodate all.

Traders with no trading space then mobilised yesterday morning to head to State House to talk to President Lungu.

Chanting “njala, njala, njala”, the traders, including women, then headed to State House via Independence avenue before police and Zambia Army officers intercepted them in Kamwmala just outside Kambendekela House.

Police asked the traders to return but the determined protestors responded by sitting on the road, sealing off traffic.

“We should just die from here, kill us if you want otherwise it is hunger that is going to kill us. We voted for Lungu and we want to see him over this issue,” one trader told the police as others cheered in approval.

After failed negotiations for the traders to vacate the road, police discharged tear gas that ignited a run-for-your-life scamper.

The situation caused panic and forced traders in Kamwala to close shops.

Police, backed by Zambia Army officers, then pursued the fleeing marchers into town.

It is not immediately known if there were any injuries, although several women were seen falling as they fled the teargas fume.

National Democratic Congress NDC consultant Chishimba kambwili will contest the 2021 presidential elections under the newly formed political grouping.

Dr. Kambwili said he is resolved and has made up his mind to jostle for the top political position in the land under the fastest growing opposition party.

” I am not looking back. Its final. I am the NDC presidential candidate. I have been a cabinet Minister before and 2021 is mine. Am the NDC presidential hopeful,” Dr. Kambwili who is also roan Pf lawmaker has disclosed.

Dr. Kambwili said chances of the NDC forming Government in 2021 are extremely high.

“The Pf is dead. Lungu can’t win any election in Zambia”, the NDC presidential hopeful adds.

Dr. Kambwili is urging the ranks and files of the NDC to go flat out and sale the party to all citizens in all corners of Zambia.

He added that the NDC is a Party of first choice hence his resolve to go for the top position in the land under its umbrella.

Dr. Kambwili the Roan strongman is yet to hint on his running mate for the 2021 top job.

Dr kambwili who is also NDC consultant said he is amazed on how the newly formed grouping had gained so much popularity within 90 days of its formation.

Meanwhile, Dr kambwili who today featured on a radio Phoenix program dubbed “let the people talk” challenged the courts of law to uphold his expulsion from the governing party the Pf.

He has assured the people of Roan that he is ready to represent them even as an independent mp.

He said the amended constitution is clear on the vacancy created under the office of the mp in the event of the incumbent lawmaker being expelled by their sponsoring political grouping.

The revelations by Dr kambwili on his bid to jostle for Zambia’s top job has now set the record straight on his association with the NDC.

Pf members have in the recent past being spreading innuendos that Dr. kambwili still had intentions to cling on to Pf a party that has lost credibility and popularity.

With the latest pronouncement from Dr kambwili, NDC members are being encouraged to double their efforts and start selling the NDC Candidate to the general populace.

Govt Dispels Social Media Reports That Police Wants To Arrest HH

Home Affairs Minister Steven Kampyongo has dispelled social media reports that police wants to arrest the largest opposition leader for united party for national development (UPND) Hakainde Hichilema.

Mr. Kampyongo has described such reports as baseless.

He has told journalist in Lusaka that fears that the UPND leader is going to be arrested is a clear indication of cowardice.

He says police can only arrest people deemed to be law breakers and not innocent citizens.

Mr. Kampyongo says Mr. Hichilema should therefore stop fearing his own shadow.

Meanwhile UPND National Chairperson Mutale Nalumango has expressed disappointment that Mr. Kampyongo is unaware that police have been pursuing its leader Hakainde Hichilema.

Ms. Nalumango indicates that police have recently stormed the UPND on suspicion of the party keeping dangerous weapons.

By broadcast time, UPND Cadres and sympathizers have surrounded Mr. Hichilema’s house, amid fears of his alleged scheduled arrest by the police.

Kambwili Washes Hands On Post Closure, Topstar Deal

$

CHISHIMBA Kambwili has washed his hands off the closure of Post Newspapers Limited in 2016 and the PF government’s Topstar deal which saw the acquisition of a US$232.1 million loan from Exim Bank of China through Star Times without a repayment plan just before the August 2016 elections.

At the time of the two events, Kambwili was information minister, a portfolio he retained even after the August elections but was fired in November, two months after his appointment by President Edgar Lungu.

However, Kambwili, the Roan PF member of parliament has now accused President Lungu of being at the centre of the Topstar deal, saying the Head of State had instructed then acting permanent secretary to discontinue the tendering process so that the digital migration exercise is single-sourced to Star Times.

Through the deal, Star Times now has a majority stake in ZNBC, the national broadcaster.

On The Post closure, Kambwili claimed he was not part of it.

Speaking on Radio Phoenix’s Let the People Talk programme yesterday, Kambwili said his earlier remarks that he would deal with The Post did not imply that it would be closed.

“The Post was not closed when I was minister, the Post was closed when I left,” Kambwili claimed, despite the newspaper being closed on June 21, 2016 when the Roan member of parliament was information minister. “I don’t think it’s right to close a publication or private media; I don’t think it’s the right thing to do. Yes, there are ways of dealing with an institution, not closure. I told you media houses are supposed to act within the law and when they act outside the law, the ultimate is not closure. It’s to make sure that you correct them, discipline is not meant to kill people, it’s meant to teach people, deter them from committing a similar offence. So The Post Newspaper was not closed when I was minister, it was closed after I had left.”

After closure on June 21, 2016, The Post was sent into liquidation on November 2 by lawyer Lewis Mosho using five ex-employees. At the time, Kambwili was still information minister and chief government spokesperson until his dismissal the same month.

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu says those who are not working are leaving his government on their own.
And Lungu says people calling on him to fire home affairs minister Stephen Kampyongo will be the ones to lose jobs in government.
Speaking after attending mass at St. John Catholic Parish in Chinsali district today, President Lungu said he was assessing the input of every member of his government and knew those who were working and those who weren’t, as others had started leaving on their own.
“Ulu tepitana mu Zambia ndemona abalebomba nabashilebomba nibanani. Lelo bambi baletila iyo tamfya uyu inchito pantu nafilwa. Ala chimo naku bola ni 90 minutes. When a player is not playing well on a starting line up, he or she is give a chance to see his skills. Others are saying fire this minister, he is not working. These ministers are working, things are just hard. Those who were not working, you have seen that I have fired them and others are leaving on their own. So don’t worry, but those who are not working, we are removing them from government, leave it to me. I have heard rumours that when I fire that one and that one, things will be fine in Cabinet. What I am saying is I am a coach, the owner of the team, who knows who is playing well and who is not. Those who are not playing well, I will be removing them one by one and bring others because we are not in short supply,”
President Lungu said.
He also said those telling him to fire Kampyongo were wasting their time.
“Ifi bambi balepafya ati fumyamofye Kampyongo ninshi ifintu fyawama, awe teimwe teimwe mwamusalile ninebo namusalile. Imwe bonse mwebo tuleteya nenu bola ba minister tekwesha ukunjeba ati fumyenimo uyu pantu taleteya wino. All you ministers, don’t tell me that remove this one because he is not playing well. He is your friend. Follow him and advise him). What I am saying is leave me alone to work with my team and I will decide on who to substitute and at what point in time…By coming to me to tell me who to fire, you are wasting your own time. Landeninabo nibamuninenwe,” President Lungu.
He called on the church to pray for political players, regardless of the parties they represented.
President Lungu also said he had noted difficulties in the e-voucher system that had contributed to the delay in input delivery.
He alleged that there were people who wanted the e-voucher programme to fail.
“Ilyashi lya e-voucher, I want to see how e-voucher is implemented, ubwafya bulipi? From what I can see ubwafya epobuli, lelo twalashindawilapo twala bombelapo ukuti bulya ubwafya bwikabako next year because this system is new. The Transparency international Zambia (TIZ) says the recent happenings and the fight against cholera in the country should not overshadow the auditor general’s report.

TIZ Executive Director Wesley Chibamba says the auditor general’s report should not die a natural death as it has been in the recent past.

He notes that people are slowly beginning to forget about the report.

Mr. Chibamba says if funds which have been cited in the auditor general‘s report were channeled towards health, the cholera epidemic could have been prevented.

He says people should therefore start following up reports from the public accounts committee, and treasury minutes, in response to the issues that have been raised in the auditor general’s report.
