Dear Editor,
WHEN I compare the words of the Vice-President, Dr Guy Scott, and those of United Party for National Development (UPND) deputy secretary general for political affairs Kuchunga Simusamba on the funeral of the nine UPND cadres who perished in a road accident last Sunday in Luangwa, it is not difficult to see why the opposition party is in dire need of direction.
In his statement, our esteemed leader, Dr Scott expressed grief at the breavement, while the Patriotic Front cancelled all its campaign activities because of the funeral.
By offering to resume campaign activities and events after the funeral, the PF exhibited leadership and wisdom.

They have also insulted the government for taking over funeral expenses, while making empty promises of winning the seat. They claimed, “it was unAfrican and unZambian” for the
government to “impose itself on the funeral”. Besides, they ignored to acknowledge what the government did at public funerals after the recent Chibombo and Chisamba road accidents.
Just imagine the parody and taunting the PF leaders would have been subjected to, if they did not do what they did in Luangwa from the same UPND people who are still complaining.
The party lacks leadership.

Lusaka.
