When It was all rose ! Owas and Saboi

ZAMBIAN songbird Saboi Imboela yesterday testified against her husband Owas Ray Mwape, accusing him of misappropriating huge sums of money while she was abroad for studies.
Testifying in the case where Mwape, a prominent Zambian actor is in court on allegations of forgery and uttering false document, Saboi told Lusaka magistrate Obbister Musukwa that when she was away for further studies in New Zealand, the couple had a lot of money which they needed to pay business partners.
However, she said Mwape in her absence did not pay the business partners.
“When I came back, people were calling for their money,” Saboi, who also disclosed that the couple is in the process of divorcing, told magistrate Musukwa.
Earlier, Saboi told the court that before she left for studies, she ordered an Elgrand Nissan vehicle at a total cost of K30 million and that she left before it arrived in the country.
She said all the documents were in her name.
Saboi said when she returned, the couple had marital problems and this prompted her to leave their house the following day.
She said among the things she wanted to get were papers related to the vehicle but Mwape refused to give them to her.
Later, Saboi discovered that Mwape had changed the ownership of the vehicle into his name.
She said she discovered change of ownership on April 12, 2013 after she reported the matter to the police and police searched Mwape’s house.
Saboi told the court that among the documents police found was an authorisation letter which had her signature and stated that she had given him her vehicle.
She told the court that she never signed any authorisation letter which was presented to Road Transport and Safety Agency.
Saboi told the court that when police retrieved the documents from RTSA, Mwape insisted that she signed the authorisation letter before she left the country.
But police engaged handwriting experts who confirmed that it was not her who signed.
When cross examined by her husband, Saboi admitted not telling him about the vehicle when she bought it until the last minute.
She also said she had no reason for not telling him.
Saboi said she bought the vehicle for the family as a surprise because the Benz which Mwape was driving was faulty.
She also said she did not ask Mwape to do anything to the vehicle.
But to her surprise, the children were using a taxi and someone identified as Adorah Mwape was the beneficiary of the vehicle.
She said the vehicle was bought for the comfort of the children and not women.
