The Zambia national team is expected to camp outside the country in preparation of the must win 2018 Russia World Cup qualifier against Nigeria to be played on 7th October.
Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda told theZamFoot Crew on arrival from Constatine Algeria that he would like to see his team have an intensive training camp in ahead of the penultimate game of the qualifiers.
“We have been talking to the Football Association of Zambia [FAZ] and they are also interested in camping the team outside the country and if that comes it will be a bonus to the players,” Nyirenda said.
FAZ president Andrew Kamanga echoed the coach’s sentiments stating that a good number of the players already ply their trade in Europe and it would be easier to camp the team there.
“As you know some of the players are already in Europe, they didn’t come with us they have already gone back and we may see it fit to camp the team abroad so that it is easier to prepare the team adequately,” Kamanga said.
The Chipolopolo will need to pick a win in Uyo – Nigeria to keep chances of qualifying to the World Cup in their own hands.
Zambia shot to second place in group B of the qualifiers after picking back to back wins against Algeria.
Zambia’s next game is against the Super Eagles on 7th October.
The team arrived at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport at 12:40hrs.
