The Electoral Commission of Zambia, ECZ, has set April 24th as date for Chawama parliamentary by-election.
The seat fell vacant after its former lawmaker Edgar Lungu became President of Zambia.
According to the announcement, campaigns begin on March 10. There will be 8 local government polls to be will be held on the day too.
Meanwhile, parliament will resume sitting on Feb 24 after having adjourned on Decemebr 17. The house will welcome new leader Inonge Wina who is Vice-President but bids farewell to Daniel Munkombwe with Guy Scott reverting to the back bencher while Mulenga Sata and Margaret Mwanakatwe become new entrants.
