Slap Dee’s Marriage Denial Shocks Ex-Wife

Slap Dee’s ex-wife Matakala Lubinda says she is shocked by the rapper’s claims that he has never been married.
Lubinda, whose marriage to Slap Dee was dissolved by the Chilenje Local Court in Lusaka last November, says it is shocking that her ex-husband could lie about an important thing such as marriage. The couple were married for three years and have a daughter.
Slap Dee – real name Mwila Musonda – recently denied having divorced, saying he had never been married and that he was currently too busy to marry. But Lubinda, a 24-year-old law student, said the remarks came as an embarrassment to her. “As a matter of fact, me and Slap Dee were married for a good three years and we have a baby girl together.
But as life would have it, we divorced last year,” she says. Lubinda explains that their marriage broke down irretrievably. “His remarks came to me as a shock because I wasn’t expecting him to stoop so low. I respect him as the father of my little girl, but he continues to disrespect me. To be honest, that came as an embarrassment to me and my family, but then that is just a testament to the man he has become. We were married and it was good while it lasted,” she adds.
The Chilenje Local Court granted the couple a divorce certificate in November last year. According to a summons that was served on Lubinda, Slap Dee sued his wife for divorce over marital disputes. A certificate of divorce was granted on November 12, 2014 and Slap Dee was ordered to pay K300 every month as child maintenance fee.
The rapper was recently quoted saying he was a witness in a friend’s divorce case and that people concluded it was him divorcing after they saw him testifying in court.
