Presidential Medical Tests Discriminatory

FORMER MMD Lusaka Province taskforce chairman Chiwele Maimisa says those calling for the medical tests for the presidential candidates are promoting discrimination.
And opposition Democratic Assembly president Maxwell Mwamba says there is no law to compel presidential candidates to undergo medical tests.
Mr Maimisa said in an interview yesterday that subjecting presidential candidates to tests is tantamount to promoting discrimination.
“This idea of subjecting people to tests will bring a lot of confusion in the nation,” Mr Maimisa said.
And Mr Mwamba said in an interview that the constitution does not provide for conducting tests on candidates.
Mr Mwamba said what ought to be an issue is not health but plausible action by candidates.
