KASAMA Central PF member of parliament Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba says sports minister Chishimba Kambwili is a fool with an arrogant and stupid attitude.
Kambwili on Wednesday condemned Mwamba for supporting the UPND ahead of this month’s presidential election, saying he was limited in his thinking because of his low level of education.
But Mwamba said the Roan PF member of parliament has an attitude of stupidity, and he would not engage in a quarrel with him because people would not tell which of them is the fool.
“I don’t respond to fools like Kambwili. I don’t want to argue with a fool, otherwise people will not differentiate who the fool between him and me is. I spoke to him today (Thursday) and he was trying to heap the blame on you [The Post], that you are the ones who ignited everything; that is why he responded like that,” he said.
Mwamba challenged Kambwili to resign from his ministerial position and try to survive on “his education”.
“Tell him that he is not my match. Kambwili has only been known now because he was appointed as minister by the late president. Where was Kambwili all this time? We didn’t know about Kambwili. GBM was there. GBM has always been a household name even under UNIP, MMD even PF. If he is man enough, let him resign like the way I resigned as minister of defence,” he said.
Mwamba disclosed that Kambwili was removed from the Ministry of Foreign affairs by president Michael Sata because of his “arrogance and stupid attitude”.
He warned Kambwili not to push him, threatening that he would tell the nation what he knew about him.
Mwamba said his money was clean and wondered why people kept talking about his wealth.
“Tell him that I am not a copper thief. I have never stolen copper or rail line from the Copperbelt Province. I am a self-made man and my money is clean. They should stop talking about my money. Yes, I have it, it is my money. It is not his money,” he said.
Mwamba said the PF should respect his decision to support the UPND, saying it was final.
“I will not go backwards. You see, their worry is that they know that I enjoy support not only in the party, even outside the party by the general populous,” he said.
Mwamba said whether the PF liked it or not, he had supporters and friends who were not in the party structures but were voters that would support his decision.
He said his decision had made people like Kambwili panic because they would not have their jobs after the January 20 presidential election.
“He is only worried about his job because he knows that come January 20, he is not likely to be there. He knows that the tide has changed. So leave him, let him continue yapping until he yaps no more. I will respond adequately on January 21 because now I am busy campaigning… In fact, I am just getting ready to go and start my campaign,” said Mwamba, who added that the PF structures in Northern Province were in disarray.
