Dear Editor,

Please help us publish our article in your online publication so that we stop the lot happening at Mulungushi Village.

There is rampant corruptions of a worst kind at Mulungushi Village Complex Limited where a Receptionist has been appointed as Acting Operations Manager. The Receptionist appointed has no formal qualifications to be appointed at that level of a manager. She is now currently supervising the people who have higher qualifications and yet she has only a basic certificate from Kalingalinga Youth Development Center. The Board led by Dr. Mashamba has objected to this appointment but the CEO who is alleged to have an intimate relationship with the Receptionist has gone against the directive of the Board and instead appointed her to act as Operations Manager. According to Mulungushi Village Complex the position of a Receptionist is at level 6 and is unionized but a lady has been moved to level 2. She is earmarked for confirmation anytime from now. She has so far acted for over 8 months earning a salary of a manager. She is also entitled to other fringe benefits such as perdiem entitled to managers, talk-time worth K400 per month, 450 liters of fuel per month plus a full salary of a manager level. We the unionized employees of the company have never been granted a meaningful salary for the past three years but the company just recently paid the Acting Operations Manager a salary arrears of K40,000 cash. Mulungushi Village has well qualified employees in other levels who should have been considered to act as Operations Manager but the CEO handpicked a Receptionist and this has shocked a lot of employees who are wondering at this decision. We request the Board of Mulungushi Village Complex to quickly investigate this matter and correct the situation otherwise we the unionized employees are now planning to protest for this decision that the CEO has made. We are always told that the company has no money and yet the same company is paying dividends to the government and paying huge acting allowance to an employee who does not deserve. Where is the morality here? We appeal to the Board to quickly intervene before this lady is appointed as Operations Manager. We also request a salary increment since the company has the capacity to pay an employee who is not qualified for the position.

Please do not disclose our names for fear of victimization by management.

Yours,

Employees of Mulungushi Village Complex
