Acting President Guy Scott has affirmed to uphold the constitution regarding contesting the Presidency.
Scott has been named interim President after the demise of President Michael Sata in a London hospital.
The 70-year-old is barred from contesting elections in 90 days’ time because his parents-English and Scottish immigrants were NOT BORN IN ZAMBIA (as per Zambia constitution requirements to contest the Presidency)
“I won’t run for the presidency at the election because constitutionally, I can’t,” the Guardian quotes the interim leader.
