Open Society Foundation (OSF) has expressed disappointment at revelations that Government spent close to five hundred thousand Kwacha (K500, 000) on Police officers deployed around the Chief Chitimukulu palace to prevent Henry Kanyanta Sosala from moving into the palace.
OSF Executive Director, Sunday Chanda has lamented that such a colossal sum of money was spent to allegedly fight one person who has been deprived of his right to ascend to the Chitimukulu throne.
Mr. Chanda says the lack of drugs and beddings at Kasama General Hospital could have been eased greatly had government channeled the money towards addressing such a challenges.
Mr. Chanda says Government should now be working towards harmonizing its relations with royal establishments across the country including resolving its stand-off with the Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) and the Bemba Royal Council (BRC).
He has since called on the PF Government to make peace with the Chitimukulu and apologize to the Bemba-speaking people now and not during election campaigns.
