Mwata Says He Will Not Tolerate Laziness Among His Subjects

Senior chief Mwata Kazembe XIX of the Lunda people of Luapula Province says he will not tolerate laziness among his subjects.
And Mwata Kazembe has appealed to the government to consider opening Kanyembo Technical Training Institution which was closed by TEVETA several years ago.
In an interview in Ndola recently, Mwata Kazembe (Mpemba Kaniembo Chanshi) said Lundas in the past were well known as hard-working people who helped others.
“I don’t like people who are lazy. Laziness deters development. If everyone was hard working in the country, development will take place,” he said
And the traditional ruler said it was sad that his chiefdom did not have a trades school and that his own initiative, Kanyembo Technical Training Institution which was helping youths, was closed by TEVETA.
“Kanyembo Technical Training Institution was helping a lot of youths in the area to acquire skills but the sad part is that it has been closed. We are asking PF government to consider opening it and turning it into a trades school so that it can be receiving funding from the government,” he said.
He said if youths in his chiefdom were educated, they would help to develop the area and the country.
Mwata Kazembe said he valued education, adding that an educated nation was a healthy nation.
